Dance Styles
Disco Freestyle
An energetic dance style which includes runs, kicks, jumps, a range of arm and hand movements and much more. This dance style is usually kept up to date with the current music trends.
Commercial
A dance style taken from many other dance disciples such as: jazz, street, modern and hip hop. It is a combination of self expression, energy and performance. Commercial is the kind of dancing you see when artists perform live in music videos, on TV, in films and of course, in commercials.
Lyrical
A dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics and modern dance. It is a combination of ballet and jazz that often uses music with lyrics to inspire the movements of the dancer.
Contemporary
An expressive dance style that combines elements of several dance genres: modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. It is a style where you can express many emotions and tell a story.
Acro and Stretch
Acro and stretch uses strength and flexibility to perform gymnastics-based tricks. In this class, students perform conditioning exercises to prepare them for increased difficulty. It teaches flexibility, balance, strength and coordination.
Street
A dance style that evolved in outside dance studios and in any available open space such as streets, dance parties, block parties, parks and school yards.
